My crab apple has quite a few apples this year. I can't decide what to do with them. I thought about making wine, but the starter kit is quite pricey. What have you made with crab apples? I would love to hear your suggestions.
I've heard of making crab apple jelly but I'm sure it would take a lot of sugar to make it sweet! We are seeing lots of apples on all the trees here in NC this year! ♥to
I have used small crab apples to make jam. I used Sugar pears from a tree in my yard and crab apples from an ornamental crab apple tree in my yard. The crab apples were bitter and the Sugar pears were very sweet. I just followed the recipe on the sure jell for jam.So delicious.
here are a few links with recipes for crab apples
