We picked a few butternut squash..still have a

few  more in the garden. The above squash weighed 

over 5 lbs. And we did not plant it.

It was a volunteer in the compost pile. My favorite way to 

cook them is to make a sausage/apple stuffing.

We live in south GA so we plant these in the 

spring and they mature in about 4 months.
