Cupcakes for the Birds

Here's the link for the recipe from Birds and Blooms
I only had smooth peanut butter so I added some nuts
I also added some dried cranberries and sunflower seeds

Here's my tip for measuring peanut butter, shortening or anything
that is sticky.  Place plastic wrap in measuring cup; add ingredient, remove plastic
with sticky stuff and with a spatula remove sticky stuff from plastic.
And...no measuring cup to wash.

Melting shortening and peanut butter.

Ready to go in the refrigerator to cool.

Out of the refrigerator.

I only made half the recipe. This mixture will be soupy after adding
the cornmeal but go ahead and pour in cupcake liners...it will firm up.
These would make the cutest gift in a clear cello bag and tied
with a piece of primitive fabric.

I added a link to your blog under the photo of my Annie doll. I got in a hurry and missed doing that! I love her...oh, and Wendy does, too! Hugs, Diane ♥♥♥

  3. this looks like something me and my husband would like to do together. We're finally getting Blue Jays and other little birds in our yard again - those rascal Mocking Birds have ruled our place for a few years now. Thanks for sharing the birdie recipe!
