We went to Tallahassee yesterday to visit Market Days, which is an "upscale" arts and crafts show. We have probably visited 4 or 5 years. This was the first year it was a disappointment. We arrived at 9:30 and bought out tickets. When the gate opened at 10:00 there were probably 50 people in line and this particular parking lot was less than 1/4 full. Usually it's "elbow to elbow" people. The weather was horrible (45 degrees and windy). We were disappointed with the primitive booths. There is this one booth that sells unique - mostly wood - prim items. He was selling out fast. That is the only purchase I made, from his booth. By the time we left - about 2 hours - the sun was peeking through the clouds and it turned out to be a nice day to spend in Tallahassee. Oh, I almost forgot, the one tent with what I call " the upcoming crafters of tomorrow ", was filled with kids and the crafts that they had made. I bought a prim star and prim tree made from small tree limbs from a brother and sister. The kids were so cute.
I have already started working on my prim stuff to sell at craft shows next year. Last year I goofed off too much and have made the resolution to get started early this year. There are so many things I want to make. We also do wood crafts, i.e. trash bins, potato bins, bread boxes and miscellaneous wood items. Send me an email if you are interested in anything. I also do one of a kind things that I pick up at estate sales, yard sales, goodwill etc. etc. I refinish them and give them a new life. I paint a lot of primitive saltbox scenes. I have an etsy page http://primsandannies.etsy.com My ebay user name is: primsandannies04 I don't have a store but list dolls and other prim items frequently. Please click on primsandannies above left side to view my etsy store.
