Yesterday I decided to pull out the glass paint from
way back in the cabinet, wipe the dust off and
paint glasses. My thing is daisies this summer..can't
get enough of them..so
I decided to paint daisies on these two glasses.
It has probably been 3 years since I painted on
glass. Some of the paint was dry but lucky for me
the yellow, white and brown was still good.
Wipe the glasses with vinegar to remove oils and
whatever may be on them...do not have lotion on
your hands..I hold the glass by the top and sometimes
put my hand in it to hold in place.
It took about 20 minutes to paint these two glasses.

Into a COLD oven for 30 minutes..set temp @ 325..
at the end of time turn off oven, I open the door because
I don't want to wait for the oven to get cold with the door closed
before I can get them out.  I usually let them age for a
couple days before I clean up whatever spots are on
them...with vinegar.

A quick and easy project.  If you have never painted on
glass, give it a try...it is very forgiving..just keep
the vinegar and cotton swab close by.
I used Delta Perm Enamel and Apple Barrel Indoor-
Outdoor gloss acrylic enamel. I prefer the gloss
paint over the satin finish. Do Not use water base
acrylic paint. Soap and water or brush cleaner can
be used to clean brushes but clean them immediately
after you finish painting.
I always wash my painted glassware by hand.

Total cost $2.00 @ at Dollar Tree.
I think I will go back and get a few more glasses.
That was fun!!

Pics of our garden

We had a thunderstorm come thru our area late yesterday
afternoon. Tree fell on the power line and was without power
almost 2 hours
These pics were taken after the rain..
seems like everything doubled in size.
We are eating a lot of broccoli...seems like it is all ready
to pick at the same time.
The cabbage has started forming in the center...we could
not find the plants until late in the season, so if the
temperature rises into the 90's, it will not make it..they
prefer cooler weather. They were planted the first week in April.

There are 21 tomato plants and most have tomatoes about
1 inch in diameter. We planted these by the phase of the moon...
April 12 and 13...will let you know how that goes...the yeild is
suppose to be greater.

In case you would like to compare your growing seasons
with our  pictures...we are located in SW GA.

Broccoli..we planted 8 plants.

In the center of pic below is a vine that we did not plant,
started growing from seeds thrown in the compost bed.
Not sure what it is yet but it is growing like crazy..see
pic below.

Happy Mother's Day

Mothers are a promise from God that
you will have a friend forever.
My mom when she was 16 years old.
We miss you but take comfort in our memories
and that we will see you one day.
